Mytheon review

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 30 March 2011 11:44 (A review of Mytheon)

An mmorpg strategy set in a misused greek mythology world. I played it as much as I did because I am a fan of similar isometric game-play Magic and Mayhem . To describe; you have your hero who levels and does other normal rpg stuff and you have a deck of 15+ cards with 6 in hand and castable including units structures and spells. Mmorpg stuff; autowalk through Map, quest completion automatic, trade (auction), cards are partly cash shop, pve while waiting for pvp, coop is sometimes unavoidable. Pvp gives level advantage and may be very simple: just rush all units at opponents hero though i guess latter that doesn't happen.

Lost Saga review

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 24 March 2011 01:38 (A review of Lost Saga)

Rumble, good tutorial, Little cash/grind advantage, No waiting, Currently playing

Content; Lots of champs & abilities, Ave modes & maps. Customization poor.

Practically no Pve, Sometimes laggy from Florida
FB mode requires waiting, ironically gives bigger advantage to cash/grind and gives more cash too.

Shaking camera makes me nauseous. Real time item expiration.

Rumble Fighter review

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 14 March 2011 10:01 (A review of Rumble Fighter)

Pvp is better in lost saga but considering how poor Pve is in lost saga its much better in Rumble Fighter. The Pve includes lots of puzzles and platforming-like action.

EDIT: Remapping Rumbel's keys to the lost saga ones really helped me enjoy rumbel more.

Why is the pvp better in saga? Probably because all champs are free and there are many more of them. Rumble also is more level dependent. Rumble definitely has more map variety. Also i couldn't get used to the Rumble controls at least partly because saga's are different. Rumble is a bit slower paced and doesn't have the screen shaking of Saga both of these i liked. Actually, Rumble's modes are more creative if only because i really don't like soccer mode in Saga. Sagas item and champ combo weirdness is better too. This comparison is incomplete because I haven't played Rumble enough.

Heroes in the Sky review

Posted : 13 years, 1 month ago on 14 March 2011 06:25 (A review of Heroes in the Sky)

Lots of stuff like planes modes and armaments. Very fast to get into game and death countdown is 5 seconds.

Biggest problem and the reason i stopped playing is the sim is really really poor. Press spacebar to accelerate yeah. Very level based as higher levels will kill 19/20 times.

Would have been alot better with like tunnel, and between skyscraper maps.

State of Play review

Posted : 13 years, 2 months ago on 28 February 2011 01:41 (A review of State of Play)

!!SPOILER!!
The way the reporters were so worried about getting the right scoop and finding everything out in the face of a 13 billion dollar assassination conspiracy rather than their own and their information source's survival really undermined my enjoyment of this film. I kept thinking: you really need to make sure lots of other ppl know what you found and that the assassins know it too or else if they are really pros ur dead.

Heroes of Newerth review

Posted : 13 years, 2 months ago on 13 February 2011 03:07 (A review of Heroes of Newerth)

Hon vs LOL:
Grafix: Lol's graphics and art design (too childish) are said to be bad compared to Hons but in Lol i can always tell what champ i am looking at. in hon I just look for large red circles. In-fact i like the cutesy champs which have spawned their own utub vids.
+4 Lol

Ping/latency : Hons is WAY better proly because it doesn't double the route by forcing the ping through the main server. Didn't used to be a problem in beginning of lol.
+3 Hon

Game modes and maps. Just one more map Lol. PLS!
+3 Hon

Pacing: Lol farming is slow and boring. The 5v5 ganks are way too fast.
+3 Hon

Price Lol is actualy free and finding the "trial account" page on Hon is impossible
+3 Lol

Community: They both leave but in Lol they also insult and swear and are a-holes.
+.5 Hon

Learning curve and interface
+.5 Lol

Flex/freedom: Hon can have greater level and champ ability differences.
+.5 hon (idk)

item math
+.5 lol (idk)

Ability variety/flexability
????

Screwing blizzard/activision by copying War/Star Crafts 2nd game-play verbatim. +1 hon

Selling out. -0 Lol (We still have to wait and see.)

Having also made savage: +1 hon

Guild Wars review

Posted : 13 years, 2 months ago on 8 February 2011 10:02 (A review of Guild Wars)

Purchasing any one expansion will allow pvp but to win you will need to buy all 4(3?) this will total 35$ if you know where to look.

Although there are ALOT of skills many are useless.

The biggest problem with Pvp is camera control and just control in general. Often the camera can not show anything useful because characters just zoom bye or are too small.

Codex and "guild wars" add a lot of re-playability.

The Vampire Diaries review

Posted : 13 years, 3 months ago on 20 January 2011 02:12 (A review of The Vampire Diaries)

Leather, being emo (actor&director don't work) in a cemetery, and vampires who bring their own smoke machine are cool. The moral guy's job is to stop the serial killer.

House M.D. review

Posted : 13 years, 3 months ago on 18 January 2011 08:54 (A review of House M.D.)

oman the Hugh Laurie fans. ED says that is because they are " Anonymous "

This show is comedy gold. Male fire fighter gets nuts burned off causing him to lose testosterone levels causing him to get menopause and suffer old women diseases. Doctors mess up giving him electro-shock therapy to remove bad memories that cause heart attacks. Turns out a different old woman disease was causing him to hallucinate and the memory wipe wasn't needed.

Alice in Wonderland review

Posted : 13 years, 3 months ago on 11 January 2011 02:05 (A review of Alice in Wonderland)

Because they must have a big war and Depp has to be both the main love interest and bad ass sword fighter. Same for main character. And dance. Any chance Mr. Burton is ripping on Hollywood? The red castle is just past a desert.
Calling this movie Alice in Wonderland was a big mistake because while girl goes to magic land and the characters are there, there is no other real similarity. Movie feels like its abusing the characters ambiance and point. I guess that's why its called a "re-imagining." Maybe I'm thinking of the good Disney animation as the comparison.

The ending in the real world is weird. Can anyone explain it?

I liked both Queens, parts of Alice and the cat. Also the blending of CGI and real pictures or whatever really happened there was amazing.

Quotes from other reviewers:
Only this time around Alice learns her true destiny, she must be the one to save Wonderland from the clutches of the read queen.

2. As much as I love action in movies, this movie wasn't supposed to have any action, just whimsical. This isn't "The Chronicles of Narnia", people! And 3: The Mad Hatter breakdancing. That's what Chester A. Bum calls "THE BIG-LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT!" But still, Tim Burton's remake of "Alice in Wonderland" an OK film.

It is one of the few films that combines live action and animation together. Obviously, the visual effects were absolutely stunning but I felt that the filming was rushed.
Captain Jack Sparrow and Willy Wonka. In fact, the Mad Hatter was just a mixed character between them.

And ofc a lot of what Pvt Caboose said.

Except I don't feel any "real emotional involvement" with the Narnia aspect at all. The queen looks downright sympathetic, there is no threat, the end is obvious, the relation to the real world is very simplistic and these characters are not supposed to be badass. If anything making them goofy would have been a whole lot better. I would rather have seen "Alice navigates Victorian society", "Alice convinces the red queen to be good", "Alice leads goofy ragtag Wonderland characters to victory", or "Alice wanders Wonderland for advice and insight on her world."

MovieBob understands. At least this movie.
